Telegraphic advice of the death of T. CUSHING, Esq. of Winterport, Maine reached this city yesterday. His brother, Andre CUSHING, on his way from the South had spent a pleasant day with him on Sunday last and left him on Monday morn. in comfortable health, though feeble. On Tuesday he appeared to be failing and yesterday morn. his son, George B. CUSHING, left by rail, arrived at Winterport, however, a few minutes too late to see his father alive. Mr. Cushing was one of the pioneers of the pine lumber trade in this city, having commenced manufacture many years ago on the Kennebecasis in what was then known as 'Veazey mill' at McCoskery's. In 1851 a purchase of Union Point was made, when he and his brother, Andre established a permanent business under firm name Andre Cushing & Co., his interest finally reverting to his son, George B.
