Sketch of the late Rev. James WALLACE, Coverdale (Albert Co.) by his son, Rev. Isaiah WALLACE ... He sweetly fell asleep in Jesus on eve. March 7th, 1871, left widow, two sons, four daughters. A married daughter Mrs. COLPITTS and two infant children had proceeded him to the spirit world. My father was born in Hopewell, N.B., January 17th, 1797, eldest s/o late James WALLACE and Catherine WALLACE of Hillsborough. Three brothers: John WALLACE, Esq., M.P., William WALLACE, Esq., Collector of the Port of Hillsborough and Dea. David WALLACE and four sisters, still survive him. He was baptized by the late Rev. Joseph Crandal. In 1826, he was publicly set apart by the imposition of hands for the glorious work of preaching Christ. The churches in Hopewell, Hillsborough, Harvey, Butternut Ridge, New Canaan, Caledonia, Baltimore and Coverdale enjoyed his labors. Funeral took place Friday March 10th. His remains were buried in the old burying ground in Hillsborough to slumber in the same cemetery with the dust of his parents, grandparents and other kindred. Rev. W.T.
