Prominent among the officers of the police force of Chicago is Capt. Richard WALSH who was born in Kings Co., N.B. 28th March 1851. He came to Chicago in 1869. In 1883 he entered the force of the town of Lake,. In 1885 he was made a patrol sergeant. A year ago last spring he was promoted to a lieutenancy. In 1889 he was made a captain. He is stationed at the Eighth District, the stock-yards.
