Albert S. WHITE, LL.B., the present Speaker of the House, is a descendent of a loyalist family who settled in Queens Co. His father is J.E. WHITE, retired merchant of this city. He was born at Sussex (Kings Co.) in April 1856. He was educated at the Academy and college at Sackville and in June 1877, he received the LL.B. degree from Harvard. He has a lucrative practice and is one of the governors of Mount Allison College. He was first elected to the House at the general election in 1886 and was this session chosen Speaker. Conservative and Methodist.
