New York, Nov. 16 - The barque "Low Wood" of St. John, N.B. which arrived today from Belfast reports: October 20th, lat 49.10 lon 37.30 sighted barque "Bendor" of London, from Liverpool for St. John's, Nfld., with coal. Her foremast head was gone with topmast and top-gallantmast and all sails blown away and cargo shifted. The heavy sea was making a clean breach of her. The crew requested to be taken off as the vessel was sinking, but as their boats were stove, they wished us to send ours. The second mate, George W. JAMES of St. John, N.B. and for men, volunteered in the boat. ... when she was close to the wreck a heavy squall came up.
