Early yesterday afternoon a little daughter of James LINGLEY, Indiantown (St. John), age 4, was playing with some other little ones in the rear of the yard. A pile of straw had been placed there and some of the children started it with a match. Soon Mrs. Lingley was attracted to the window by their screams. There near the heap of straw was her little girl eneloped in a mass of flames. Drs. Christie and McLaren were at once summoned by they entertain little hopes of her ultimate recovery. (abridged)
