A sad accident occurred at Washademoak Lake (Queens Co.) by which John ANDREWS, fireman of steamer "Tiger" lost his life. The "Tiger" was swinging a large raft, when the tow rope suddenly slipped striking Andrews on the head. The man was thrown overboard and being stunned was unable to reach the tug. The men dragged the lake and recovered the body in the eve. The remains were taken to Armstrong's wharf where Coroner Hetherington held an inquest. The body was then placed in a rough coffin and sent on board the steamer "Soulanges" which reached Indiantown (St. John) yesterday afternoon. The deceased leaves a wife and child. He resided at Indiantown.
