Dorchester (West. Co.) Nov. 27 - As Crockett's special was coming around Palmer's curve, just before getting into Dorchester, the train broke away from the tender. Thomas CARROLL, forward brakeman, was in the engine and thinking the train had not broken away, ran back over the rear of the tender and fell on the track. The entire train passed over him and he was completely cut to pieces. The body was picked up and taken to Moncton on the Halifax express. This is the 11th man killed between Halifax and St. John this year.
