Boiestown, May 9 - Frederick CLARKSON s/o William CLARKSON of Stanley, was drowned yesterday on Dungarvon stream. While working on a log jam he was accidentally thrown into the swift stream and carried under the jam before assistance could reach. When he appeared among the logs several of the men attempted to save him, endangering their own lives. A young man, Harry TURNBULL, jr. had him up on a log twice, but as Clarkson could not help himself, being stunned it seems from a blow on the temple, he slipped back into the water. His brody was found shortly after the drowning and is now being brought down the Miramichi in a boat. He was 23 years of age and was working on Wm Richard's drive under John Fullerton.
