Despatches received late in the day stated that on Sunday afternoon two young man, Fred CRAWFORD of St. John and George BOLTER of Fredericton, got into a dispute over a bottle of liquor at a house where the vile liquid is dispenced when Bolter drew a common pocket knife and inflicted two gashes on Crawford. - A brief communication received from Winn last night corroberates the statement save that Crawford's first name was Robert CRAWFORD, was not a drinking man, but was taking a bottle of beer out of Bolter's pocket in fun, when the latter turned upon him and stabbed him as already stated. - 'Bangor Whig' D.T. April 16 - Advices from Kingman, Maine report that Crawford, who was dangerously wounded by Bolter, is improving and able to take nourishment.
