Messrs Troop & Sons barque "Low Wood" arrived at New York yesterday and a telegram win the afternoon announced that the second mate, George JAMES. and four seamen were drowned on 20th Oct. off the Banks of Nfld. while attempting to rescue the crew of a sinking vessel. George James is a son of late Frederick JAMES, car builder, of this city. He is a young man but has been at sea for some years.
