A shocking accident occurred Friday night on Britain St. (St. John) by which a four year old child, d/o George ELLIS met with a fatal end. The mother of the child went to a tank to get a pail of water, leaving the little one sitting on the floor near the stove. Before she returned, the child got too near the stove, its clothes taking fire. When the mother arrived the dress was in flames and she succeeded in putting out the fire after a desperate struggle. The girl expired before the morn. (abridged)
