Woodstock, Nov. 20 - James H. JACQUES, clerk in the Custom House here died suddenly this morn. He attended official duties yesterday , but going to his residence he was seized with a spasm of the heart. Dr. Colter was summoned but medical aid could avail but little and the patient expired at 4 o'clock. The deceased was the clerk of the Town Council at the time of his death having filled the position upwards of twenty years. He was county inspector of schools for a year after the School Act came in force. Mr. Jacques was 66 years of age.
