A terrible accident occurred on the European and North American Railway at Winn last Monday by which three men were severely and perhaps fatally injured. A charge of powder had been but in a ledge which failed to ignite and the men were drilling out the charge when it exploded sending the fragment of rock in every direction. George WOODS of Fredericton, N.B. had his eyes blown entirely out of his head, his jaw broken in several places and one arm fearfully mangled. James McGee of Bangor (Maine) had an eye destroyed and a jaw broken. David WEBBERLY of Woodstock, N.B., was badly injured, although likely to recover. Several others were bruised by falling rocks. - Bangor 'Courier'
