'Times', Liverpool, N.S. - Andrew COWIE and wife celebrated on Wednesday last the 70th anniversary of their marriage. Mr. Cowie was born in Auchenhalrig, Banffshire, Scotland in 1798 and came to Halifax in 1816 and to Liverpool in 1878 where he commenced the dry goods business which he soon gave up to engage in a tannery business which he has ever since followed. He was married by J. Thomas in 1820 to Janet MORE d/o late John MORE. Mr. Cowie represented this county for many years in the House of Assembly. He has been one of the vestry of Trinity Church continually for over 60 years.
