On the night of Sunday, 10th June, Capt. Richard J. ROBERTS of schr. "Little Annie", in an attack of delirium arising from yellow fever, rushed out of the cabin of the schooner on to the quarter deck and threw himself into the sea. There was a strong wind and a heavy sea at the time, so all efforts to rescue him proved unavailing. The accident took place in lat. 26.16 north; long. 69.27 west, off the coast of Porto Rico. Capt. Roberts leaves a wife and a large family of children living in Carleton (St. John). His son Samuel ROBERTS brought the schooner from Boston to this port, where she now lies.
