Death of J.W.M. IRISH, Esq., Saturday, at his residence Coburg St. (St. John) of disease of the heart. Mr. IRISH was born at Falmouth, N.S. and came to St. John in 1824. Here he entered commercial pursuits with George A. LOCKHART, Esq. Subsequently, he carried on business on his own account, principally in connection with the shipping interests. More recently, the firm had been composed of Mr. IRISH and Mr. MELICK, the firm name being J.W.M. Irish & Co. The deceased was a Port Warden and also Vestryman of St. John Episcopal Church. The funeral Monday was attended by a large number of our citizens, while the shipping in harbour had their flags at half mast.
