Charles ATKINSON, a native of Wood Point (West. Co.) and second mate of barque "John Mcleod" died at sea, 11th March from wounds received the previous day from a Greek sailor named Jomey. The latter refused to obey orders and threatened to use the knife. Atkinson took it from him, but returned it when Jomey went aout his work. During the night Jomey stabbed Atkinson in the abdomen inflicting a serious wound and then went aloft where he afterward shot himself.
