Who is Cora LEE? - A good many years ago, perhaps 25 or 30, a young woman was employed as a domestic in various families in this city. She was a Roman Catholic. She married a mechanic named CLARK, a Presbyterian. They lived together happily for a number of years. Then Mrs. Clark died and left three little girls. The names of the girls were Annie CLARK, Kate CLARK and Minnie CLARK. They were placed in St. Vincent's Orphanage and remained there until they had grown up. Annie first left the institution, followed by Kate. Both were given excellent homes. Neither would stay in the home provided for her. They started off on their own account and went to ruin. Each in time had to become a lodger at the Alms House. One went to Fredericton and was in a disorderly house there. The other tried to reform and was helped by friends, but finally drifted to the States. The third sister, Minnie, remained in the Orphanage, after Annie and Kate had gone out. Five or Six years ago, Mrs. Michael WALSH of New York, a daughter of Edward HAYES of Portland (St. John), sent a request to the orphanage for a girl. Minnie Clark, then a girl of about 13 or 14 years of age, was sent. Minnie was sent to Boston in care of the stewardess of the International steamer. From there she went to New York with one of Mrs. Walsh's friends. About six months, or perhaps a year after going to New York, Minnie suddenly disappeared andn this is the last Mrs. Walsh or her family have heard of her. Is she Cora Lee? (see original)
