During its six months engagement with Rev. Jarvis RING as city missionary, a room in the vicinity of Marsh Bridge was procured, where he labored and where a Sunday school was formed. After running a short time a meeting was helfd March 10th, 1857 and a committe consisting of James E. MASTERS, John FISHER, E.J. BARTEAUX, George D. GODSOE, S. KINSMAN and Thos HICKS was appointed to arrange for securing ground and erecting a building in the same neighborhood. The building lately abandoned as a mission hall was erected on the 15th day of September, same year, was dedicated for public worship. On March 29th, 1858 was formed what was known as the Marsh Bridge Church. (see original)
