A painful accident occurred Friday last in Norton Parish (Kings Co.). About 9 o'clock, Charles FROST started with his gun to hunt for cattle that had strayed in the woods, saying that he would not go far and instructing his son to be ready when he returned to do some hauling. When it grew late in the afternoon and he did not return, his family began to feel anxious and his son, with two of his neighbours, started to search for him. The next morning eleven of the neighbors started in the direction of Kingston in search for him, but returned at noon without any success. In the afternoon they started out again in increased numbers and at 4 o'clock they found him about a mile and a half from home at the foot of a mountain in the woods, shot through the breast.
