John WHEELER died suddenly about 12:30 this morn. at his home on King Street. Death was the result of epileptic fits from which deceased has been a great sufferer for the past 20 years. For the last year, however, he had them with unusual severity. Yesterday morn. he took a walk about town and when standing in front of the City Hall was seized with a fit falling upon the sidewalk. He soon recovered again and was taken home. In the afternoon he had another one. This also passed off in a short time and he was able to partake of a hearty supper. Shortly after 6 o'clock he was sitting on the doorstep with his mother, chatting pleasantly, when he was again attacked. When he recovered from this he felt quite worn and weak and sat down on the platform again with his mother to get the fresh air. As the eve. wore along, he said to his mother that he longed to take a walk to the corner of King and Westmorland streets, which is only a few yards from his house. His mother, feeling that he was not equal to the exertion, tried to disuade him from doing so, but he persisted and walked slowly to the corner. Arriving there he looked along the different streets. He gazed very intently, as though he were seeing them for the last time. At length he retraced his steps for home and going into the house sat down on the sofa. His breath became labored and he vomited a quantity of blood. The frequency of the fits during the day had been too much for his system and a blood vessel had been ruptured. He grew weaker and struggled considerably until about midnight, when death put an end to his agony. He sat on the sofa with his head resting on his hands until a few minutes before he died. Suddenly he struggled convulsively, stiffened and fell out in his brother's arms dead. Deceased was in the 30th year of his age and for some time had been unable to do anything on account of his epilepsy.
