Loss of "Nancy" off LaHave Banks - From Halifax 'Recorder'. On the 18 sould on board, Capt. PUTNAM was the only survivor. The "Nancy" was from Cow Bay to New York. On Monday morn. 18th inst., off LaHave Banks during a heavy gale, the vessel sprang a leak and immediately began to fill.There were eight passengers, a Mrs. DOYLE of Cow Bay who was on her way to join her husband in Pennsylvania and had with her seven children from 19 to infantile years. Some years ago the father and husband had sent for them, having himself obtained work in the Pennsylvania coal mines. The captain's wife and child, 17 mos. old., were also on board. The crew of the "Nancy" consisted of seven, four of whom were Prussians, The mate was John McDOUGALL of Maitland; and the second mate named JONAH belonged to Cumberland Bay. The cook was a Frenchman.
