The community was startled yesterday by the report of the drowning of four men, Alexander ROLLINS s/o William ROLLINS; Stymest McFARLANE s/o Archibald McFARLANE; Percy TRUESDALE s/o Thomas TRUESDALE and William WILSON, the latter a married man with a large family. They went over to Robbinston Tuesday in Mr. McRobert's boat and left there about 5 p.m. to return to St. Andrews (Charlotte Co.) Not having arrived here up to the hour of noon yesterday, coupled with the fact that the oars of the boat were found on the beach at Joe's Point, it was feared that the boat was swamped and those on board found a watery grave.. On the arrival of John RICE, from Robbisnton, all doubt to the fate of the men was set at rest. Rice, having heard the cries of the men for help, put off in his boat to attempt their rescue. He heard the cry of one man whom he supposed was clinging to the boat; the cry soon ceased. Rice did not discover any of the party. The boat was found Wednesday afternoon on the southern side of St. Andrews Island, but no sign of its occupants.
