James WOODIN who closed his pilgrimage 24th Dec. 1865 was a native of Halifax, N.S. and served his country in the naval dept. in the coast defences of these lower Provinces, in and through the American War of 1812-1813. He then left the service, settled in Charlotte Co. and was foreman in a baking establishment in St. Andrews where he was baptized by A.D. THOMSON more than 30 years ago. A few years after professing Christianity, he settled with his family on Pleasant Ridge, Dumbarton parish. He set up a Sabbath School near his home and otherwise taught the children; age 85.
