An Albert County correspondent says: Mrs. James McKAY, who has been visiting Hopewell Hill obtained before she left for home, a relic of the olden days in the shape of a piece of Irish lime rock, brought over as ballast in the brig "Billow" some sixty years ago. The ballast at that time was burned for lime by the settlers. The "Billow" was commanded by Capt. Wm ROGERS, an uncle of Mrs. McKay and a s/o Robert ROGERS, one of the first settlers of Shepody. The "Billow" and her sister ship, the "Matilda", are remembered by the older inhabitants of Hopewell.
