Rev. S.W. SPRAGUE, one of the fathers of the Methodist Church, died Wednesday afternoon at the residence of his son, Rev. Howard SPRAGUE, D.D. The deceased minister was in his 79th year and had spent 54 of them in his ministry. Mr. Sprague retired from the ministry about 16 years ago and has since resided at Hampton (Kings Co.). His wife was Miss CURRIE of Harbor Grace, Nfld. They celebrated their golden wedding some six months ago. Mrs. Sprague's death occurred shortly after. Rev. Sprague was born in Exmouth, England, 1814. The surviving children of Mr. Sprague are seven sons and three daughters. The sons are Howard SPRAGUE, D.D., pastor of the Centenary Church; J.D. SPRAGUE, teacher in LIverpool, N.S.; Richard W. SPRAGUE of Holyoke, Mass., William SPRAGUE of Vancover, B.C.; Thomas F. SPRAGUE, a physician in Woodstock and Samuel W. SPRAGUE of Medicine Hat. The daughters are Amelia SPRAGUE wife of Walter DREW, sheriff of Queens, N.S. and Flora SPRAGUE, wife of William CROWLEY of St. John's, Nfld. - 'Sun'
