St. Stephen 'Journal' - On Monday 30th June, Charles VANSTONE, Francis KELLEY, John McCLEMENTS and R.G. DODGE of firmn Moody & Dodge left St. Stephen (Charlotte Co.) in a fishing excursion in the neighborhood of the islands at the mouth of Passamaquoddy Bay. On Tuesday their boat was seen by Mr. CALDER laboring in a heavy sea with the sail close reefed and making it for Pendleton's Passage. It suddenly disappeared from view and on Wednesday afternoon the dead body of Mr. VANSTONE was found floating in Fox's Passage. His body arrived in St. Stephen Saturday and was buried in Calais on Sunday. Mr. VANSTONE, formerly a Deputy Sheriff of Northumberland County, age 47, left a wife and eight children. Mr. KELLEY, age 39, a wife and four children; Mr. DODGE, age 63, a wife. Mr. McCLEMENTS, age 35, was unmarried. (see original)
