On Saturday morn., James DAVIS murdered his wife at Howard Settlement (York Co.) and had made his escape. He is described as about 6 feet in length, raw boned, long dark brown curled hair, long thin face, bare looking, little or no beard or whiskers, eyes inclined to be sore and a scar on the side of the neck. When he left the settlement he took the St. Andrews Road. He had passed himself at Calais (Maine) this winter under the name of James DOW.
