A correspondent of the 'World' writing from Bathurst (Glouc. Co.) says that Burton S. READ, formerly a member of law firm Emmerosn & Read, Dorchester (West. Co.) but lately of firm Joseph B. Read & Co., grindstone manufacturers, passed to the eternal rest Friday night 13th ult. Mr. Read was a partial student at N.B. University, Fredericton and subsequently took the degree of L.L.B. from Boston Law School. He was only 28 years of age when called away. Last year he injured his knee while curling on the ice at Newcastle and afterwards was obliged to go to Halifax, N.S. to put himself under the best medical care. Feeling better, he was removed to Clifton in this county, the home of his brother, Henry C. READ.
