On Wednesday as the schr. "Horatio Wilson" from Boston wasattempting to enter Market Slip (St. John) she ran into thesmall schr. "Sophia" laden with wood belonging to Wilmot, N.S. carrying away her mainmast and causing her to sink. James WEST of Cornwallis who was on board the "Sophia" was unfortunately crushed to death.
