Millstream, May 9 - On Sunday 1st inst. a school annniversary was held in the church at Carsonville. The meeting opened with singing and prayer, after which Alexander McLewod gave a brief sketch of the history of the school. Alex. McLEOD was appointed superintendent and he continued to hold the office until 1863, John SPICER acting as assistant. It was chiefly through their influence the first library was procured at a cost of 4 15s 3d. From 1863 to 1869, A.Z. PARLEE acted as superintendent; from 1869 to 1872, the late John LEIPER; from 1872 to 1880, by A. McLEOD; from 1880 to 1883, by late John LEIPEr; from 1883 to 1887 by Joseph FRAZEE; from 1887 to present time, by John A. LEIPER, the present encumbent.
