On Thursday eve. last, Dorchester (West. Co.) lost by death its oldest citizen. William Keillor CHAPMAN was born in Dorchester, Oct. 26th, 1809. From 1836 to 1853 he was engaged in a general grocery business with Thos. KEILLOR, in store situated opposite where the bank now stands. In the latter years the store was burglarized and the burglers, to cover their work, set fire to the building. After Mr. Keillor retire, Mr. Chapman continued the business in connection with his extensive shipping interests until 1865, when he sold out and became interested more extensively in real estate and shipping until about ten years ago when he retired from active business. The funeral took place on Sunday. The deceased gentleman leaves two sons, Albert J. CHAPMAN and Clarence H. CHAPMAN and three daughters, Maggie CHAPMAN, Bessie CHAPMAN and Etta CHAPMAN.
