Adam SCOTT was born at Hawick, Roxborough county, Scotland, Nov. 26th, 1793. He married Janet AMOS d/o late James AMOS by whom he had ten children, nine of whom were born in Scotland. In 1834 he and family emigrated to New Brunswick and settled on the Murray Road, Botsford (West. Co.) and there began to hew out a home in the wilderness, three miles from the seashore, the Murray road then being a mere path. Mrs. Scott died in the spring of 1884 and on 22nd August 1891, Mr. Scott departed this life at the great age of nearly 100 years. Of his descendants six children, 26 grandchildren and 41 great- grandchildren survive him. Mr. Scott took an active part in school and church organizations. In 1835 he connected himself with the Presbyterian church under the ministry of the late Rev. Dr. Clark. At an early date he took a leading part in the prayer meeting and 1849 became superintendent of the Sabbath school. The offices are now held by his youngest son, Robert SCOTT.
