Bear River, N.S. - On Monday 20th inst., two small boys were playing in a scow lying at the wharf near John COPELAND's brickyard. The eldest Pike HARRIS, age 9 only s/o Thomas A. HARRIS fell overboard. The other boy, s/o Mr. COPELAND, tried to save him, but could not. He then ran to the house of his father. When Mrs. COPELAND came down to the water he was floating on the tide alive; but so far off that she could not reach him. Before he could be got ashore, left was extinct. - Digby Acadian
