A Carleton, P.E.I. correspondent writes: We regret to record the death Tuesday 5th inst. at Mansfield Cottage, the residence of son-in-law, Alexander HOWATT, of John CROCKETT, 87th year. The deceased was born in Nova Scotia and came to this Island with his parents, first settling at Tryon, where he began life as a farmer. He moved to Carleton about fifty years ago where he remained until his death. Ordained an elder by the late Rev. D. McDonald, he united himself with the Church of Scotland. His three sons, William CROCKETT, Henry CROCKETT and John CROCKETT and his four surviving daughters, Mrs. A. HOWATT, Carleton, Mrs. T. PLATTS, Alberton, Mrs. A. AFFLECK, Searleton and Mrs. Andrew AITON, Sussex (Kings Co.) N.B. were present at his funeral. The remains were conveyed Thursday to Cape Traverse Cemetery.
