Old man attempts murder and then kills himself. Ambrose BOWLES is the name of the would be murderer and suicide. He owned a house on Brussells St. opposite the Church. The store in the first flat is occupied by Rudolph WOTTRICH, gunsmith; John GALLANT, a carpenter with his family lived in the second flat while the third was used as a shoemaker's shop by Bowles who boarded in GALLANT's family. BOWLES shot Mrs. GALLANT with a large revolver. The body of BOWLES was removed to his son's residence. (see original)
