Peter CAMBELL of St. George (Charlotte Co.) claims to be the heir to the Breadalbane Estates in Perthshire, Scotland. John Glass CAMPBELL, 1st Earl, had two sons by his first marriage, viz. Duncan CAMPBELL and John CAMPBELL. The Earl and Duncan joined the forces of the Pretender and left the estates in charge of John, who called himself John, 2nd Earl. On his death his son, also named John, assumed the estates and the tile of John, 3rd Earl. About 12 years ago, the third Earl died and the descendants of Duncan could not be found. The estates therefore passed into the hands of a branch family - the nearest of kin - the Glenfalloch Campbells who agreed to transfer them to Duncan's heirs if ever they should be discovered. This Duncan had sons, Big Patrick CAMPBELL and John. Big Patrick had one son, Big Duncan CAMPBELL of the Sword, who had five sons: viz. John CAMPBELL, William CAMPBELL, Alexander CAMPBELL, Duncan Ban CAMPBELL and Donald CAMPBELL. John, Alexander and Donald died either unmarried or without issue. William had two sons, John and a Capt. Donald who contended for the estates 12 years ago and both of whom died unmarried before the question was settled. Duncan Ban, the fourth son, came to St. George, N.B. and left a son Duncan and others. Duncan died 20 years ago and Peter CAMPBELL, the present claimant is his son. He is 36 years of age. - 'Halifax Citizen'
