Thomas Flavin, aged about 25 years s/o Thomas FLAVIN of Smyth St. (St. John) just after dinner went to the railway wharf off Mill St. where it is usual for many young men living in the vicinity to assemble on Sunday afternoon. The tide was out at the timea and the distance from the top of the wharf to the flats was over twenty feet. Flavin fell off the lower end of the wharf, north side, no person having noticed the accident. About a quarter to 3 o'clock Flavin was noticed lying in the mud. John RAFFERTY and others had him carried up. He was insensible at the time. He was removed to his father's home and before Dr. Travis could reach the house the injured man died. Coroner Earl will hold an inquest.
