Sincere regret was expressed here Thursday last when the news of death of Dr. H.W. OSBURN at Santa Fe, New Mexico, was received. Four years ago, Dr. Osburn gave up his practice at St. Andrews and removed to St. John. He had been there but a short time when the premonitory symptons of tuberculosis appeared. Thinking that a stay of a few months under the sunny skies of Southern France would drive away his malady, the doctor removed thither with his wife. While there he improved wonderfully and his letters to his friends held out strong hopes of his ultimate recovery. After spending some months on the Mediterranean, Dr. Osburn took passage for America again and about two years ago began practice at Santa Fe, New Mexico. For a while his health was excellent, but not long since his old enemy attacked him in a more serious form and after a struggle he died on the 29th of April. The deceased was only 33 years of age, was the eldest son of Henry OSBURN of London, England and for a time manager of the New Brunswick & Canada Railway and was a native of St. Andrews. He was a graduate of the College of Physicians and Surgeons, New York. He leaves a widow (nee Miss Alice KELLEY of Calais, Me.) and a little daughter a few months old. By his death the first break is made in the membership of the Forester Court at St. Andrews. The remains of the deceased reached St. Andrews by train Tuesday afternoon and were at once taken to All Saints Church where they remained on view in the vestibule for an hour. The basket bore the inscription 'Henry Walter OSBURN, died April 29th, 1895, age 33 years'. At 3 o'clock the pall bearers, M.N. COCKBURN, W. WHITLOCK, W.M. MAGEE, G.H. LAMB, J.S. MALONEY and R.E. ARMSTRONG, carried the body into the church. After the service at the church, the body was taken to the cemetery where it was placed in the family lot. Rev. Canon Ketchum repeated the Church of England service at the grave.
