The many friends of Edward YOUNG, a pilot in the harbor of the City of New York and a former resident of Portland (St. John) will regret to learn that he met with a misfortune on the 8th inst. which will render him incapable of attending his duties for the next six months. While he was taking a vessel out of New York harbor, the cable of the anchor parted as the crew was hoisting it in and Pilot Young was struck on the right leg, breaking the member between the knee and ankle.
