Asa READ, formerly of Sackville (West. Co.), a resident of Shemogue for the past 45 years, died at his residence 17th inst., left wife, six sons and two daughters. The funeral took place on Saturday. Rev. D.C. Lawson officiated. Among those present were, James READ, age 86 and John READ, age 81, brothers of the deceased, Joshua TINGLEY, age 94, Mrs. W. McMORRIS, age 82, Mrs. Asa READ, wife of the deaceased, age 77 and Moses McMORRIS, age 78. Mr. Read is an uncle of Edward READ, merchant of this place.
