Hon. Frank WOODS died at his home at Welsford (Queens Co.) yesterday after a severe illness extending over a period of several weeks. Deceased, by his industry and labor on the farm, acquired a good deal of property at Welsford, where he has resided since coming to this country. He was a native of Fermanagh, Ireland and was born Jan. 27, 1822. When he was but seven years old his father emigrated to New Brunswick and in the schools of this province he was educated. When he was still quite young his father, Anthony WOODS died. In 1878 he was elected to represent Queens Co. in the provincial assembly. In 1882 he was returned to legislative honors. In 1886 he was appointed a member of the legislative council and he sat there until its abolition. Two years ago he again became a candidate for the House of Assembly for Queens, opposing the government, but was defeated. Mr. Woods married a daughter of John ARMSTRONG of Petersville and his widow and six children survive him. George WOODS is a railroad engineer in Texas. William WOODS has a sawmill near Armstrong's Corner. Charles WOODS and Harry WOODS are at home. The daughters are Mrs. Howe wife of ex-Sheriff HOWE, Queens and Mrs. TAYLOR, Hoyt Station.
