47 S. Cahert St., Baltimore, 10th Oct. 1863 - To the Editor of the "Freeman" - Dear Sir: In your paper of the 2nd inst., I find the following obituary notice. "Killed at the battle of Gettysburg, Thomas only son of late William WATTERS of this city, deceased." Be good enough to contradict the above in your next issue. Thomas WATTERS was not killed at Gettysburg, but is alive and well. He was Lieut. in 2d N.Y. Vol. Artillery, but retired from the service before the battle of Gettysburg, was in my house and in this city since that battle and I had a letter from him yesterday from New York. - Respectfully yours, J.W.
