On Saturday 10th inst., a melancholy occurrence took place at the house of Alexander CAMPBELL, Pier Jasques, Lot 8. It appears that Mr. and Mrs. CAMPBELL were absent from home for a short time. Three girls, age 7, 5 and 2 who were left alone, began to amuse themselves by running around in a circle until they became giddy, when they fell on the floor near the fire. The fire communicating with their clothes, immediately enveloped them all in flames. When the mother returned home the five year old was dead, the elder survived but two hours afterwards. The youngest lingered for a few days when death terminated her sufferings. - P.E. Island Haszard's Gazette
