Hon. John COFFIN who held the portfolio of Receiver General under the Mackenzie administration, died at his residence in Barrington, N.S. last Saturday, age 74. Mr. Coffin's ancestors removed to Barrington from Nantucket, Mass. at the close of the Revolutionary war. He was a successful merchant and shipbuilder.
