On Saturday eve., Philip James WILLIAMS s/o Edward WILLIAMS, while playing 'hurley' with some other boys on Patrick St. (St. John) was running with a stick in his hand and came in contact with a tree. One end of the hurley stick struck against the tree; the other end pressed against his stomach. Immediately after being hurt the boy went into the house, and after explaining what happened, fell to the floor. Dr. Andrews was called and prescribed for the injured boy who passed a restless night, but no fears of his death were entertained until nearly 7 o'clock next morn., when a sudden change was noticed and the lad grew insensible. The doctor was sent for again, but before he reached the house, the little fellow was dead. He was 13 years old. The remains were interred in the C. of E. Burial Ground yesterday.
