On Sunday following, a lad of 16 years of age, named Henry HALLIARD, of the vessel "Amyntas" loading at Richibucto, Kent Co. with John JARDINE, Esq. went into the river to bathe. Not being able to swim, he was disporting on the flats at the edge of the channel when he suddenly flipped into deep water and was drowned before assistance could reach him from the ship. An inquest was held before George Pagan, Esq., Coroner on the following day and a verdict returned accordingly.
