At half past 9 o'clock yesterday morn. Walter LANE and some workmen were engaged moving tan vats into the corner of the lot in the rear of Messrs. Francis & Sons' new building, Paradise Row (St. John) They had moved one vat into the corner of the lot and were moving another, when it fell on Thomas RICHARDSON, a carpenter employed by Mr. LANE. He was taken home where he expired about an hour afterward. The body will be kept until friends of Mr. RICHARDSON arrive from Belleisle Bay (Kings Co.) where he formerly resided. Deceased had a large farm in Belleisle but sold it and removed to the city only a few months ago. Mrs. RICHARDSON's grief on hearing of the fatal accident was painful to witness. (see original)
